Dean's Harvest Mouse workshop is absolutely amazing. It has however ruined my social life as all I've wanted to do since returning home is to review my photos!

My sister and I met Dean in a local pub car park and drove to the location about 3 miles away. We parked our car at the entrance of the lane and walked for a couple of minutes. The harvest mouse 'tank' is in a field which means you get lovely natural and changeable backgrounds. It was also secluded from traffic and lovely to see and hear the birds flying around.

Dean offers just about the right amount of advice and support. He changes over the plants, that the mice run up, regularly and has a large array. Bring some of your own if you want something in particular, and Dean will advise if it's okay for the mice or not.

The mice work shifts so are active for the photo shoot but get plenty of rest in between! They love the chance to run up the grasses and stems and while very active, you can get some lovely photos of them. Dean will help where needed or move back and leave you alone.

On a final note, Dean is such a lovely person and does everything for you to have a great experience at a very affordable price. Highly recommended - and i will be going back when the season changes!

Spent an amazing morning at Dean's harvest mice workshop. I'm a very amateur photographer but came home with some fabulous shots! Lots of help and advice available if needed. I would recommend this experience to anyone and can't wait to have a go at the reflection pool. Thank you Dean and of course my husband Roy for a wonderful birthday experience!

Just spent the morning with Dean at his harvest mice workshop - fantastic few hours with a bloke who is absolutely passionate about his photography which manifests itself in his attention to detail, with nothing being too much trouble.
Dean's reflection poll for me next, hopefully followed by the Buzzard hide, if they're half as good as the Harvest mice i'm in for a treat.
Highly recommended.

Spent the most amazing morning wth Dean and his little mice. The set up is amazing and got some fab shots. Used a new lens and Dean so helpful as usual. We had lots of different photos as he changed everything as often as we wanted. There is nothing not to like about it and will be back there again soon. As with the reflection pool worth every penny. Can't wait to go again thanks Dean

Another afternoon in the company of dean with his delightful and entertaining Harvest Mice. what a couple of hours of superb photography..
If you have a camera and like wildlife this workshop is a must do.. There were plenty of props and you can even take your own for those mice to play on, and they sure did providing perfect photo opportunities.

Thanks dean for a unforgetable experience. see you soon. Steve

A wonderful afternoon spent at Dean's hide. The birds just kept coming!!! Five hours flashed by in no time. The hide was well set up and having gimbals supplied was a bonus. (As was the tea and coffee). I would recommend this to anyone interested in photographing our beautiful bird life. Can't wait for the Harvest Mouse Workshop. Thank you Dean for all your help and insights.

Fabulous morning photographing the Harvest Mice. An experience not to be missed and one animal I probably would not have been able to photograph if it hadn't been for this workshop. Another great set up Dean and as always a joy to spend time with you. See you soon - Rose

A thoroughly enjoyable experience with down to earth Dean Mason. An opportunity to do the mice workshop meant being able to capture something on camera which is hard to come across in the wild. Set in beautiful surroundings, with happy and well cared for mice, made the whole experience both delightful and memorable. Well organised too. Will definitely go back 🙂 Thanks again Dean

I seldom write reviews, but after spending a morning at the reflection pool hide I felt compelled to share the experience. I arrived to strong winds and expecting a dull day, but the hide still delivered and I came away with some awesome views of Siskin and Great Spotted Woodpecker in particular. However, what made the day particularly enjoyable was the personal attention of Dean, who couldn't have done more to help/support/entertain - he's clearly passionate about the wildlife, and a thoroughly nice bloke to boot (even keeping me topped up with tea throughout). I've already booked my next visit and will preach to anyone and everyone who will listen about them doing the same. Thank you so much, just a great day and terrific value for money!

The other morning I spent a few self indulgent hours in the lovely company of Dean Mason and his adorable harvest mice. I am so pleased that I took this workshop. The experience was wonderful. I urge any-one who is thinking about doing so to go along. Dean met me at a local spot, where I followed him (in car) to the field where everything is set up. He even adapted things to suit my diminutive height. I would definitely do this, or another, workshop with Dean again.

I have just arrived back home from one of Dean's 'Harvest mice workshops' wow! what an incredible experience. I feel so lucky that I was able to attend and capture some images of these dear little souls! I have a keen interest in photography but I am very much a beginner in terms of the 'technical side' but Dean did not make me feel intimidated at all. The workshops give you the freedom to get on taking photographs without being disturbed with an absolute perfect balance of intervention from Dean and he will help with any questions. It seems that Dean has a natural talent to help the mice pose!
My only complaint is that my face hurts from smiling so much! haha :) thank you so much and I will be back for sure, next the reflection pool I think. If you are thinking of booking a slot please do... you wont regret it :)

I am an amateur photographer who enjoys experiencing, and photographing, the environment and wildlife.

I spent a chilly morning in Dean's hide in late April. At the risk of repeating earlier comments, this was a fantastic morning with frequent appearances of a wide range of species - spotted woodpeckers and a range of tits and finches. Even the pheasant had a turn at the Reflection Pool. Activity seemed to come in bursts, and it was sometimes hard to keep track of everything that was going on.

As far as the hide is concerned, it has "up-market" facilities and is cosy and welcoming - although it can obviously get quite cold sitting around for several hours. Dean is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and, importantly, is a man of integrity. Whilst he cannot summon up wildlife on demand, he does his best to ensure that clients get good value for their money and that they visit with realistic expectations.

Equipment wise Dean provides gimbals which are easy and effective to use. I used a full frame DSLR with 200-500mm zoom. The zoom was useful for rapidly changing between reflection shots (for which I was typically using about 400mm) and close-ups (500mm). For the smaller birds (which are in the majority anyway) a 600mm lens would also have been useful (but not necessary).

Highly recommended - I will be back.

A group of us used Dean's reflecting pool hide in March 2017. The setup was very well organised with tea, coffee and a toilet all ready to go. The reflecting pool setup was organised to insure your shots had the best chance to be excellent. The background is far enough away to give you some lovely bokeh to enhance your shots. We had lots of visitors the whole time we were there (Great Spotted Woodpecker, Siskin, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Green Finch, Coal Tit, Gold Finch, Robin, Nuthatch) highly recommended.

A whole day spent with Dean in his hide is a true experience not to be missed! not only do you get a wonderful and varied selection of birds coming in and parading around for you, you get cups of tea or coffee all day long... and what do you need .. if you have been drinking Dean's coffee?? you know it! a loo.. and what a loo you have there, all mod cons.. and when you have to go.. Dean is out topping up the feeders and cleaning the water reflection pool out, as it is unavoidable that the odd feather or husks fall in. No tripods are needed as Dean has all the Gimble heads and plates there, so you only need to unpack your camera and lens and away you go sitting in the comfy chairs also supplied.
All you need remember, lots of cards and spare batteries... and something for lunch.
Then sit back and enjoy the birds in abundance.
Thank you Dean, a very memorable day.

I had a fantastic morning with the harvest mice today, the only problem is where to find the time for all the processing that will be necessary. Dean has a great set up, and I would recommend the workshop to anybody wanting to photograph these enchanting animals. Be sure to take plenty of memory cards!

Wow - had a lovely time at the Harvest Mouse Workshop this morning! Got (a lot) of great shots thanks to Dean's hard work with the set up and the mice. It was especially good to have proper natural backgrounds for the pictures, Dean has put a lot of thought into showing his mice to their best for photographers. The mice are so cute and it was as much fun watching them as it was photographing them. It was a wonderful morning and look forward to doing it again!!

If you want a great session of photography, look no further than one of Dean's hide days, I have just had a memorial morning in the presence of the most adorable and acrobatic Harvest mice. It is such a privilege so see and photograph them at such close quarters.
Dean is first class, his set up, knowledge of the subject and what also impressed me was his concern about the mouse's welfare.
Thanks Dean for a great day and I will certainly be back

I booked a half day with Dean, and I have to say, I was impressed.

Firstly the photography opportunities are continuous. I was using 500mm full frame and woodpecker shots pretty much filled my frame.

Whilst there upon request he moved various perches around to help me get the shot I wanted. I would highly recommend.

Hi Dean, great to actually meet you in person after knowing of you for so many years
Had a great day despite the weather being a little iffy at times but managed to get several 'keepers. I must say the facilities laid on are perfect and what with the Gimbal heads already in place, a cozy chair to sit in and a constant supply of tea and coffee it all added up to a great experience.
I also appreciated the help with the gear and your expertise in sorting out the problem I had to start with, really appreciated.
I would certainly recommend the hide to anyone knowing that they would be delighted with the set up. I sincerely wish you all the very best with your venture, it was a delight to visit.
Hope to visit again soon.
Best wishes,
Geoff..

A great day spent at Dean's wildlife hide. Dean has put a lot of thought and effort into the setup for both wildlife and customers. The reflection pool with feeder sand perches work very well. His knowledge and passion for wildlife really shows, along with this in making your day a good one. Would Recommend. Thanks again.

Ok shall I be nice or truthful. Truthful it is. A great day 100%. I don't know what I was expecting but it was a really nice day out. I'm not counting my 9 hour round trip to get there. Dean was on hand to offer advice if wanted but not intrusive. The set up allows several different type of shots all from one seat. If you want to move then there are even more to be had. If I was to make a recommendation it would be this. I was using a Sigma 150-600mm lens on a full frame camera. This lens will only go to f/6.3 so on some wider shots the background was repetitive in colours.(camouflage dressing) I would like to see a bit more variation, but I must stress this is a very minor niggle and it in no way even slightly spoilt the day. Anyway if I was that bothered I could use PS to mix it up. So my overall opinion is, a great day for all levels of competency. Dean will make sure (if possible) you are getting the shots you like and he allows you to add and remove props and when I left I didn't even have to clean out the toilet.. tee hee

Me and a friend from Bracknell Camera Club spent Friday 24 March with Dean at the reflection pool. We had a great time. Dean was enormously helpful. Giving us tips and putting up with our 'banter'! We were lucky to have activity all day. I cannot recommend this opportunity enough. Dean is a great host and this is most certainly the Harrods of hides.

A few days ago I had the pleasure of spending a day with Dean at his hide, its spacious, clean, comfortable and very well equipped with gimbal heads, hot drinks facility and even a toilet.
Dean constantly checked with me throughout the day that I was happy and obtaining images that I was pleased with.
I'm Mr fastidious but nothing was too much trouble he was always willing to accommodate me and make the smallest changes or pass on his wealth of knowledge.
There was never a lull in activity a constant stream of woodland birds visiting a number of different perches or the reflection pool providing me with a wide variety of images.
Would I recommend Dean and his hide most definitely, he has a number of ideas and plans for the future so keep an I eye on his website or Facebook.
Thanks again for a fantastic day Dean can't wait to come back.

WOW! what an amazing day all made possible by Dean and his meticulous attention to detail. I booked the full day and was glad I did. The birds just kept arriving, even the Greater Spotted Woodpeckers were arriving in 2s and 3s, and kept coming all day, landing on the various props Dean had carefully setup. At the end of the day I had drank my body weight in coffee and taken enough phots to fill both my 64GB memory cards. I have already spoken to Dean about my next visit and I'm looking forward to returning. Thanks Dean.

Went back to Deans hide again as I had had such a good time in October with my sister. I booked a half day as I had to get home. Was met by Dean and was settled into the hide. The birds came within seconds of us being there. A windy day but it was still fab and I really enjoyed it. Dean helped with questions on my camera and so knowledgeable about all the birds. Can't wait to go again and again but a whole day as the time flies by so fast. I could just sit there all day and just watch the birds it's very comfortable and warm even though it was February. So so worth a visit worth every penny

Just returned home from a visit to Deans Hide, Dean had been watching the weather and emailed me a couple of days before my visit saying the weather was not going to be good, would i like to rearange...no i said ill still come down.. On the day i meet Dean in the wind and pouring rain, Dean gave me another chance to rearrange. Not a chance i said..On arrival at the hide which was easy to get to, the hide and the facilities were superb, plenty of space and very comfortable, toilet at the back and tea making facilities inside.. The photographic facillities outside were very well planned and thought out with the photographer in mind. The feeders were topped up regually thoughout the day. The perches and backgrounds were changed to my requirements. So what can i say about my day..number one: excellent facilities, number two: plenty of birds all day long, number three: Dean a top bloke.
Dont be put off by the wind and rain, you will miss out big time...
Thanks Dean, see you again

I spent 5 amazing hours with Dean and Steph in their hide, my first time taking photos of birds and I can't wait to go back again. The hours whizzed by way too fast and the birds never stopped appearing the whole time! Dean kept the feeders topped up all the time and even had a couple of different backdrops which were changed during my visit. Lovely hot tea was made whenever needed but I was so busy taking over 3000 photos, I didn't have time to drink it! The reflecting pool was just stunning and I can't believe how professional some of my shots look even though I'm very much an amateur. Dean and Steph are the loveliest people you could ever wish to meet and nothing is too much trouble for them and I will be back again very soon hopefully!

I am a professional photographer based in Dorset. I love to photograph and capture the stunning wildlife that our county plays home to. I have been looking at local hides to obtain some new images for my portfolio. After seeing what Dean has to offer and also a few friends’ recommendations I booked a day with him. I picked a terrible day weather wise, however the hide set up and location was perfect for photographing in. Greeted with a smiley face and warm cup of tea we got set up to shoot, The hide is lovely! Warm quiet and plenty of space wit the kettle not to far away. It is also very clean and tidy and has a toilet.

I booked a half day with dean and within an hour I had seen some stunning birds flying down to the reflection pool. Deans great and joins you in the hide giving you advice on birds and what to look for. He also likes to tweak the set up and make sure there is plenty of food to keep the birds busy whilst I snapped away.

I had a fantastic day and would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to capture some really unique images in a lovely and well maintained hide.

Thanks for a great day in the hide last Sunday. Great set up and a good mix of very obliging woodland birds. Lost count of the number of visits from the woodpeckers (at least three of them) and nuthatches. We both even managed a few "keepers". Look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks, when hopefully the bullfinches will be about.

Had a great day at Deans hide. Took 40gb of memory cards and filled them all, good job I was only there for half a day or I would have had to leave the hide to buy some more! Once I've sorted through the hundreds of photos I took I will be back its a great place and an abundance of birds. Thanks Dean.

Spent the day at Dean Mason's Windows on Wildlife hide for a third time yesterday.

Oh where do I start, what a day. Before arrival I had asked Dean if he would be so kind as to source me some lichen branches, "not a problem" was his reply. Dean then asked me what background would I like, a choice of three was given. I kindly asked if it would be possible to use all three throughout the day, his reply was "not a problem".

On arrival at the hide I could see Dean had been busy, as all the backgrounds were pinned up already and a fine selection of lichen branches were to hand. Throughout the day Dean changed backgrounds and branches whenever I had asked without any hesitation.

Oh man do I enjoy these days at the hide, the bird activity and variety is insane. Thanks again Dean for a top day, made even better by the great company with someone that I believe I can now call a true friend.

Dean has put a lot of thought into the design, setting and maintenance of this hide. It is well visited by an almost continuous stream of a number of species and the backgrounds and permutations of settings are first class. I used a mix of 500mm f4 and 300mm f2.8 prime lenses and a 200-400 f4 zoom. Dean is on hand to keep the feed replenished and to vary set-ups to suit requirements and experimentation as the day goes on. This hide is good for anyone looking to try a hide for the first time and who wants to see what good looks like with a bird hide. It is also equally good for more experienced photographers looking to capture some different images to their portfolio. The hide is well kept and equipped and hot drink making facilities are a real bonus. Most enjoyable and productive day Dean, thank you.

Spent 5 hours in the hide this week. Early morning light lead to softer light later in the morning. The pool is a great set-up with classic shots easy to obtain. Used 300mm and 100-400mm zoom to great effect. Very interesting watching how different birds had repetitive habits, returning to the same point several times to take the food which Dean had put out. So well worth using fixed focussing on one point and waiting for a particular bird to return. I definitely learned a lot about working with such rapidly moving subjects and framing shots. Will return at a different time of year hoping to do better next time. Am looking forward to using Dean's new 'hawk hide' in the summer. PS After the hide we went to nearby Shell Beach to see the murmuration of starlings.

We booked a 5 hour session for the 19th of January. Come the day, it was very cold and Dean very kindly phoned us before we left home to say that the reflection pool was frozen hard, so did we still want to come. We decided to go ahead and came home with no regrets whatsoever. We had some amazing shots of birds on the ice sipping water as it melted, and then half way through the session, Dean was able to remove enough of the ice to enable us to get some classic reflection shots. It was an unexpected and very welcome pleasure to have Dean provide us with hot drinks and good company throughout the session. The toilet was also a bonus. To sum up, the whole set-up was well thought out and managed, the seed was replenished as necessary and we came away with many great images. We shall return.

I had booked a day's session at the hide for yesterday. On driving over to Dean's place I wondered if perhaps I should have only booked a half day as I thought maybe a full day will be too long. On arriving there Dean takes over. He assisted me in getting the gear inside, within a few minutes a steaming cup of tea was before me. Then the fun began. Eight hours of non-stop activity before my eyes and camera lens.
The hide has been very well thought out. blacked out inside. Gimbals mounted by the "Windows", so no need for tripods etc.
Tea and coffee provided. Seperate toilet at the rear of the hide. Dean is a very friendly and knowledgeable guy. Very quickly puts you at ease and ensures you make the most of your time there.
Before I left at the end of the day I booked another day with Dean and his hide for March.
Can't wait !

Had a fantastic morning at this lovely hide. Comfortable, with great hosts. The bird activity was absolutely amazing - can't recommend highly enough! I'm fairly new to the world of photography and still managed some really great shots! As the bird activity is absolutely non stop - there are plenty of opportunities to play around with settings on your camera :-)

We spent a very pleasurable day yesterday with Dean in his magnificent hide, being keen ametuer photographers we had been looking forward to the day for some weeks and it didn't disappoint. We have been photographing wildlife for a number of years in public hides and with our own set ups but have have to say this was a total treat with non stop birds on the excellent reflection pool. The hide is very comfortable and well organised and its brilliant to have a loo. We'll definitely be going again.

Hi Dean & Steph
Thank you for a great day yesterday.
It's an amazing hide, one on a kind.
The reflection pool is amazing for photos, the birds were non stop all morning.
I would highly recommend this.
We will be back in the summer next year.

I have just come home from my Visit to the Windows on Wildlife Hide, and oh my god it was just amazing! So much thought has gone into the planning and creation of this set-up. Dean & Steph were both so welcoming and friendly, the cups of tea were a massive bonus to keep our hands warm! We had non-stop visitors to the reflection pool, and I believe I've managed to come away with a lovely set of images from my 2 hours spent in the hide! I will most definately be making a return visit.!

Having just returned from a full day in the hide with Dean, I really cannot recommend it highly enough!
The attention to detail is amazing compared to many rental hides in the UK.
The hide is insulated and heated, with hot tea and coffee on tap, and a ready supply of biscuits!
It is also worth pointing out that there is a very welcome separate toilet located just to the rear of the hide, which again is a detail that I've not come across before at a UK rental hide.
During the course of the day the Nuthatch and Woodpecker were the stars of the show, and performed constantly all day. I would estimate the woodpeckers visited the perches and reflection pool somewhere between 40 and 50 times during my 8 hours in the hide!
Also had Starling, Bluetit, Great tit, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Marsh tit, Siskin and many other species visiting throughout the day!
All in all a great day out that I would highly recommend :)

Hi Dean
Thanks for a great day yesterday. A well presented and appointed hide. You have obviously thought about what you would like as a visitor. Very welcoming and, and yes one of that burst of shots claimed the Marsh Tit. In fact I probably have two worth working on. Thanks again it was a very worthwhile experience. I will be back to quote a famous phrase.

Just had a fab day at Deans hide, I would love to go back there again. Dean is very supportive and so helpful and makes a mean cup of coffee.
The set up is the best by fare and knows his stuff down to the ground. Very well done

Just a perfect day with Dean at his custom built hide which he has designed for photographers totally with photography in mind. The photo opportunities are endless and I really cannot recommend it highly enough. Even if you are not into photography it's worth the visit just to experience British wildlife at its glorious best with woodpeckers and many, many other bird species pretty much on tap. All that plus coffee or tea on tap and the great company of Dean himself - what more could you ask for?

The Windows on Wildlife Hide is a jewel amongst those I’ve visited. The experience is enhanced by the company, attentiveness and warmth of Dean who’ll advise and support you throughout your visit, and ensure bate is topped up and pond cleaned. The hide is secluded enough to ensure you won’t be disturbed, yet it’s easy to park close by with just a short walk to get to it.

The L shaped hide is a masterpiece of intelligent design with plenty of space, several photo-windows and other facilities for photography as well as a kettle and toilet. In addition, the hide is insulated making it comfortable but without disconnecting you from the natural surroundings.

Outside, the reflection pool is the star attraction with easy viewing for two people. There is also a stone feature, several other posts and pertches, and an additional window opens up on a field with deer, foxes etc

The most striking thing is the variety of visiting birds and seeing them with their reflections in the cleverly constructed reflection pool. The birds seem very comfortable with the hide and because of that the pictures I got were way beyond my expectations. I lost count of the number of birds I saw and at such close quarters. I was thrilled, amongst those that visited were Nuthatch, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Siskin, coal Tit, Great Tit and Blue Tits. And even a pheasant!

It took me a while to come down from the exhilaration of seeing the birds so close up together with the warmth of Dean (and Steph’s) support. I am now basking in the glow of the wonderful photographs I took (and my friends acclaim of how great a photographer I must be!). However, be sure to stock up with memory cards and charge spare batteries for your visit – I used up both my batteries!

I have been to many hides up and down the country but the windows on wildlife hide must be one of the best. Built by a photographer for photographers, Dean's workshop offerS as little or as much help needed to take stunning pictures of woodland wildlife. Totally recommend this photography workshop.

What a fab day spent in Dean’s hide. As a complete novice to bird photography I was a little apprehensive at the thought of photographing birds whilst in the company of such a talented photographer as Dean, however I need not have worried as I was made to feel totally at ease right from the start.

On approaching the hide I was immediately overwhelmed by the bird activity that was clearly visible. The hide is comfortable with several vantage points to choose from and a gimbal supplied. Looking out from the hide there is a reflection pool and perches all of which Dean has made a great job of making them look so perfectly natural.

Once I was settled in the hide it was just non-stop action from the off, I felt like a child at Christmas, too frightened to drink the tea that Dean had made me in case I missed a shot. Dean was on hand to name birds that I didn’t know the name of. Birds that paid a visit on the day were the Greater spotted Woodpecker, Goldfinch, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Greenfinch, and Nuthatch to name a few.

Anyone wishing to visit the hide will not be disappointed, but please be advised to make sure that you have spare batteries and plenty of space on your memory cards as I took over 6000 images on the day. Rest assured, I will be returning on a regular basis.

Thanks Dean for a fantastic day, you are a true gent.

Hi Dean & Steph
Our first visit to your hide was breath taking,we took many image's that we would have found difficult to achieve without the professional work that Dean has done to the hide also the raised reflection pond.
This experience was with out doubt one of the best Wildlife encounters we have ever experienced. You have both worked so very hard together to achieve a friendly, but professional care plan, which offers a wonderful variety of woodland birds in their natural habitat, giving you plenty of opportunities to photograph so amazing images.
Dean your attention to detail with the whole day is to be commended.
We booked for Dean's hide prior to our two week holiday to Dorset,we enjoyed it so much we decided to revisit on the second week, and thankfully Dean could accommodate a revisit.
The second visit was again more than we could have wished for,all birds were so happy to visit their home of paradise that Dean & Steph have created for them.Their love and devotion to wildlife that now the wildlife call their home.
We have visited many different hide but Windows on Wildlife Nature Photography Hide,is a bespoke hide like no other, comfortable seating, numerous viewing windows and a real plus for the ladies it is insulated from the cold, also very comfortable on hot days, it has all been very well thought out, no detail has been missed.
Anyone thinking of a day in paradise! then this is the place for you.
It is PARADISE right here on earth.
Thanks so very much Dean & Steph we will be back very very soon. xx

Hi Dean, Hi Steph,
Just to say a massive thanks for your wonderful hospitality during my recent visit to see you on the south coast.

Having known Dean through photography for a number of years now I knew that whatever he undertook he would put everything he had into it, his attention to detail is second to none and it shows in every aspect of this terrific set up, as is their passion and knowledge of the wildlife that visits the site.

The hide is expertly built to an extremely high standard, very comfortable indeed and offers views to three different habitats-a reflection pool with hedgerow, an open field on farmland and also a wooded area which I'm sure will attract very different species giving photographers a great variety to photograph.

It is also worth mentioning that due to the hides location close to the south coast there is always the chance of unusual species showing up too, so it would definitely be worth visiting at least once every season, the Spring and Winter should be amazing and I for one will definitely be returning.

Well done guys on a fabulous set up and I sincerely wish you all the best for the future.

I spent a really enjoyable half day at the hide and without hesitation I can highly recommend it. Dean has really worked hard to set this up with so much thought and attention to detail, using his vast knowledge and experience of wildlife photography to produce a hide of the absolute highest quality. He really has thought of everything!

I was able to come away with a bagful of shots that I was really pleased with and Dean was on hand to give help and guidance whenever I needed it. A great experience all round and I'll definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Reflection pools can be very tricky to set up. the one made by Dean is remarkable in many ways. The hide is also very spacious and comfortable, with regular tea as an added bonus. would love to visit again at a different time of the year for different species.

Had a lovely day at the hide. Dean and Steph were very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and to enable us to get some lovely shots. There were a variety of birds who were constant visitors to the lovely reflective pool. We had a constant supply of coffee, friendly chatter, reflective quiet time and came home with some beautiful photos. Can't wait to visit again. If you are thinking about it I would definitely go. It's a big thumbs up from me. 😄

Dean and Steph's hide is second to none. You will seriously struggle and probably fail to find a better one. We've visited a lot of hides and have yet to see one that comes close.
The service they provide totally matches the high quality of the hide and there was almost constant action during our 12 hour stint in the hide.
If you're reading this review to inform a decision on whether to go or not, it's a no-brainer, just go. You'll not be disappointed.

I had the pleasure of a day out at Dean and Steph’s hide yesterday and what a great experience I had. My initial thoughts were ‘wow’……..this comes from my first impressions when I set eyes on their entirely self built hide and were reiterated as I seen their set-up more closely. Dean and Steph have set this family hide up with the utmost attention to detail in order to allow comfort for their clients and consideration for the wildlife that appears at the hide. An ‘L’ shaped hide that offers numerous viewing windows to different aspects (fields and perches) and even upper and lower level viewing windows. It offers comfortable seating and is insulated from the cold (and extreme heat) very well indeed. As far as hides go (I’ve been to a few) this is by far the most comfortable and well thought out. Dean and Steph have spared no expense to build the hide, reflection pool and other perches. They are both very welcoming and present a first class service, changing the perches at their client(s) request. There is tea and coffee on offer and an outside toilet facility. The parking is safe, secure and just a 2 min walk from the hide, which is secluded and absolutely uninterrupted by passers-by, dogs, public etc. As for the wildlife, I shot just short of 2k images and to be honest it was a full-on session with constant visitors to the perches and reflection pool; I’ve never had such a busy shoot, to the extent that I was afraid to go to the loo in case I missed something!! Visitors included numerous woodland birds (I lost count of the variety) and their juveniles (the juvenile Robin was such a highlight for me as they are so photogenic), several Woodpeckers including juveniles and Jays were also a real highlight for me so close up!!. All the birds visit the reflection pool and they squabble too, which forms the basis of some fantastic images. Finally, both Dean and Steph are working tirelessly to introduce more regular species including, owls, foxes, badgers and buzzards, they may even offer some night shoots eventually…… I’ll certainly be returning. To finish, I have no association with Dean and Steph, yesterday was the first time I met them, but I was in awe of the effort they have made with this hide. They are extremely genuine and have a passion for wildlife and allowing others to photograph it at close quarters. Kudos to them both. I fully recommend a visit.

I've always wanted to have a go at wildlife photography from a hide. I'd heard they can be uncomfortable, but the day I spent in Dean's hide was a complete surprise. It had comfy seats, gimbal mounts at the windows, tea and biscuits and even a discreet loo round the back! But most importantly, a fabulous reflection pool and a wonderful selection of natural perches. The wildlife was abundant and some of the bird visitors were a first for me. Fantastic value for money and a wonderfully quiet and relaxing day. Thanks, Dean! I'll be back!

I had a fantastic afternoon at Dean's Wildlife Photography Hide. Dean was incredibly helpful and accommodating, he cleared the reflection pool of distractions and even moved the branches that the woodpeckers were landing on so that they were in the best light. The hide is well set up and hot drinks were readily available. We were able to photograph a variety of birds. woodpeckers, bull finches, jays and siskin to name a few. My colleague even managed to get a good shot of a fox. I would recommend this hide to anyone who is interested in photographing wildlife and I will certainly be back at a future date. Thank you Dean.

I was fortuitous to have been given the opportunity to meet up with Dean Mason, the mastermind behind the 'Windows On Wildlife Nature Hide' to say the hide setup is bordering on perfection would be an understatement, it is better than perfect! Dean couldn't have been more accommodating, his knowledge of the wildlife, along with his passion in making your day a comfortable one in the hide, is something that shouldn't be missed.
